In Varaha Avatar, Lord Vishnu incarnated himself as a boar to rid the world of the atrocities of the demon, Hiranyaksha, who had grown invincible by virtue of a boon that he won from Lord Brahma after years of prayers and penance.
Everyone was happy as Rama and Sita set off to return to Ayodhya to live there happily ever after... for a while at least.
"The Bhagavad Gita" mentions Lord Krishna or Vishnu narrating to Arjuna, "Whenever Dharma, or the law and order situation of the world is at stake, I incarnate onto this world to restore Dharma, and to protect the saints and honest fellows and to destroy the evil elements of the society."

According to the Puranic legend, Lord Brahma mentally created ten sons, "manasa putra", to carry out his task of creation and destruction. This had resulted in the creation of Shiva and Daksha but Shiva had superior powers. Irked over Shiva's supremacy, Daksha took the former as his rival.
According to Hindu mythology, God manifests Himself into various forms with different strategies and methods to eradicate evil and establish peace, from time to time.
